Little Nest

Little Nest is a haven for families and foodies alike. This neighbourhood café, located just off Vancouver’s Commercial Drive, earned itself critical acclaim–and a loyal following–within weeks of opening. With Mark Cornett and Craig Wright, gifted chefs formerly of Lumiere and Blue Water Café, the kitchen’s menu is constantly evolving, with thought and care always given to the seasonality, locality, freshness and integrity of ingredients. The Little Nest ethos involves creating positive relationships with everyone involved in the culture of food, including local farmers and delicatessens. The café’s large open space is whimsical, airy and light, and is designed to allow kids to be kids, while grown ups can still feel grown up…able to fully enjoy finely and freshly prepared breakfasts and lunches, as well as seasonal cakes and baked goods made by ex-Lumiere pastry chef/owner Mary Macintyre. To top it off, Little Nest serves Ethical Bean’s organic, fair-trade espresso. Little Nest: A reminder of the tasty things that happen when top-quality food meets a shared space where people can connect.

This was a great place! I wish we had this in Victoria. It was excellent food and such a great place for kids at the same time! Well Done!

As a native Edmontonian and avid Oiler fan I rarely share anything positive about Vancouver…on a recent trip there I discovered an amazing cafe that ensured the children enjoyed there time eating with their parents and parents could be happy with seasonal locally grown and organic food. Its amazing to think that a place like this feels like a cafe you could enter in rural Alberta…where local families and surrounding community support the owners and the owners do the same for local families and businesses. A place where both friends and strangers dine at the same tables. Where kids can be kids and parents can be parents…I was so impressed by the urban comfort that I got a bit lost in the community atmosphere. You can really get a good sense of the community there and being that a sense of community comes from common sense you should really use yours and get there. When you are you wont waint to leave.. the food, the people, the environment…nothing like McD’s or any other chain…I honestly thought that it would be like all my other stops in life but oddly enough I even tell my fellow Oiler followers all about it…its really in Vancouver?..
