The 25-seat wine bar at Campagnolo recently received a new lounge license. To celebrate, they held a Mad Men-inspired event on October 29 with Glenfiddich Global Brand Ambassador, Ian Millar. Bar Manager, Giovanni Giardino, served three new cocktails that he created featuring Glenfiddich, while guests were offered a variety of Italian canapés conceived by Chef Robert Belcham.

Millar led attendees through the Glenfiddich range of single malts—12 Year Old, 15 Year Old, 18 Year Old, and 21 Year Old—and explained the finer points of whisky appreciation to the uninitiated. He also brought a very special bottle of 1977 Glenfiddich for guests to taste.

Throughout November, Campagnolo diners will be able to enjoy Giardino’s Glenfiddich cocktails for $8.50 (plus applicable taxes). Each is made with an Italian ingredient or an Italian twist, in keeping with its Italian concept.
Hendricks Cocktail
The Nero
1.5 oz. Hendricks gin
0.5 oz. Glenfiddich Scotch
2 drops of Strega Liquore (witch’s liquor)
Rinse a chilled martini glass with the Strega so there is barely a film on the glass. In a shaker, combine the Hendricks and the Glenfiddich and shake until bruised (vigorously shaken until the ice cracks and breaks down a little). Pour into martini glass and garnish with a Cerignola olive.

The Classic Scotch Cocktail
The Rob Roy
1.5 oz. Glenfiddich Scotch
0.5 oz. Cinzano red vermouth
Dash of Angostura bitters
Mix the Scotch and vermouth in a shaker glass, stir gently, strain into a chilled martini glass, and add a dash of bitters; garnish with an orange twist. A classic refreshing start-of-the-evening cocktail.
The Contemporary Scotch Cocktail
The Pete Marche
“The Pete Marche drink is a contemporary twist on the Rob Roy. The name Pete Marche is an inside joke involving the peatyness of Scotch and the Marche region of Italy (pronounced Marsh), so not a peaty marsh but a Pete Marche.”
1.5 oz Glenfiddich Scotch
0.5 oz Orancio vermouth
Dash of cherry bitters
Mix the Scotch and vermouth in a shaker glass. While that is chilling, crack a segment of orange rind around the rim of a chilled martini glass so that it is misted with the essential oil. Add a dash of cherry bitters and enjoy cold. Lip marks are the only garnish this drink requires. A take on the Rob Roy, this stunning sipper delights the palette and cures rheumatism.
