indigologo_webFrom the Dept. of “Go Big or Go Bigger”, the Plaza 500 Hotel having just come out of the harrowing construction vortex of the Cambie RAV line is set to go under the knife again, this time for a big-time make-over into a Hotel Indigo, a brand owned an operated by the Intercontinental Hotel Group.

Set to open in advance of the 2010 Winter Olympics, the 153-room Hotel Indigo is located in Vancouver’s upscale West Side neighborhood just steps from City Hall, fine dining, shopping and entertainment.  The hotel features 42 spacious corner suites with panorama views of mountains and the Pacific Ocean and is owned by Plaza 500 Hotels Ltd.

The design is very close to being finalized with David Nicolay at Evoke taking on the project. FigMint Restaurant & Lounge is slated for a slight refresh with the main construction to begin in the next couple of months, starting most likely in the lobby. ~ PK
