My New Hockey Sweater

by Keith Talent 05.09.2009

The Canucks recent run has brought a new fashion crime to the Gore-tex and Teva clad streets of Vancouver, the ubiquitous hockey sweater has reared it’s head in unexpected places, on your bank teller, bus drivers and the guy making your coffee. I’ve never been a jersey kind of man. I’d like to think I [...]

The Tipping Point

by Simon Ogden 05.07.2009

The strange Western cultural phenomenon that rules our very lives, that keeps us from screaming advice on manners into the [...]

The morning of day four is a carbon copy of days two and three. Disembarking from Louisville is significantly delayed, as wake-up calls and alarms are ineffective against drunken slumber. Departure is hampered further as luggage had to be packed before clamoring to the vans. A breakfast stop at Cracker Barrel provides our first taste of [...]

Bourdain Unjumps The Shark

by Keith Talent 05.05.2009

Is that even possible? I do not know, I do know that his recent comments have restored my admiration for the man. He has been toddling down the road to middle aged complacency, plainly visible to anyone watching No Reservations as of late. He has left his previous companions, namely Twitter, The Onion, celebrity bartenders, [...]

by paulkamon 05.04.2009

When Khristian Laroche from Waldorf Wines asked me to join a German Riesling tasting for the staff at Au Petit Chavignol I was excited just to be invited. When he mentioned that winemaker Johannes Selbach of Selbach Oster would be leading us through the wines, I was thrilled.
