Wine: 20 wines by the glass (10 red, 10 white) Sorry, no bubbles.
Cocktail: 8 cocktails on their list, including some unique Belgian beer cocktails
Concept: The look is art-deco moderne with a “mid-century Euro-rustic” aesthetic describes designer and co-owner, Craig MacMillan. The bar and lounge part of the space has a “masculine” sensibility with it’s leather chairs and strong clean lines, while the dining room is “feminine” with its softer edges and motifs.
The restaurant concept is very similar to the Commercial Drive location, booze forward with an extensive Belgian beer list with a series of tried and true tapas on a seasonal rotation using local producers and suppliers whenever possible. All the seafood offerings are Oceanwise, with official accreditation to follow.
The larger kitchen at this location allows for an expanded the food menu, offering an entree list with a 3-course prix fixe option for $28 or a 2-course for $22. A special brunch menu is offered on the weekend.
Outside, there are also 2 patios for al fresco dining, each with 16 seats.
There are 14 bar seats and 30 more in the surrounding lounge area, which also has 2 large HD televisions to watch the game. The skookum fireplace area has 4 large comfy leather chairs and is guarded by a very masculine painting of a majestic antlered buck.
The main dining room is secluded from the glow of television and has 35 seats with an 8 seat private “dining car” at the front corner of the space.

The chairs and banquets are the ubiquitous and pleasing white leather with solid tables of dark and light wood.
Fun fact: approximately 80% of the materials are recycled from old buildings, film sets and hotels. The box lights were reclaimed from the Hotel Vancouver and are over 50 years old.

SWEEEEET!!! Stumbling distance from my place…
Cool sign, and interior. They are lucky to have such a great space, and have taken advantage…
Interiors are nice – but the singnage looks like they were having a font sale. Ha!
Why couldn’t they have opened in North Van. instead, Godammit!
I agree about the sign– it doesn’t seem to reflect the interior of the place. That said show us great food , drink and good value and stellas could become my new watering hole.
sounds like a great addition to Cambie. Nice looking room.
any place with an elk portrait is ok by me.
I’ve been waiting for them to open ever since the Stellas papering went over the windows. Nice to see them partner up with Mt. Pleasant Cheese!
I ate there and the food took a bit to come out of the kitchen, but it was like eating in a high end restaurant. The risotto was amazing and the beer was fresh and clean (I had the Leffe).
Popped by for a bevvy tonight. Place was jumping. Nice room, eager, unpretentious staff. Had a Kwaak (along with the mini yard glass). Beef tenderloin served with mash and haricot verte for $19 was sublime. Some opening jitters evident but a very good start for sure.
Congratulation,
These guys are great, fantastic decor and even better food. For more info on reclaimed wood flooring visit http://www.westernheritagebc.com.
I can’t wait to try this place. I have been eyeing it for so long. So far, I’ve heard great things.
