I recently read a blog post of uncomfortable plot summaries, inspired by Rick Polito’s famously droll summation of The Wizard of Oz; “Transported to a surreal landscape, a young girl kills the first person she meets and then teams up with three strangers to kill again.” I thought I should take a shot at creating some for food television programming.
Credit where credit is due, I had some help with some of these from my friends.
Marco`s Great British Feast – Barber shy Yorkshireman deals with maternal loss.
Mexico, One Plate At A Time- Ned Flanders finds domestic bliss with grown daughter.
Kitchen Nightmares -Scot overcomes tourette’s to lead a productive career as a health inspector.
Ricardo- Francophone feigns cooking skills, heterosexuality. Gets magazine deal.
Iron Chef America – Bobby Flay puts mango puree on shit.
The Frugal Gourmet- Clergyman confirms suspicions about adults that appear with muppets, and the clergy.
Bizarre Foods With Andrew Zimmern- Jew eats tref.
Kylie Wong My China- Traveler confuses locals by looking like a duck, clucking like a chicken, and cooking like a food court.
Alton Brown Good Eats- John Boy makes the simple difficult, in an effort to make the difficult simple.
The Thirsty Traveler- Kevin Brauch develops an alcoholics nose by season three.
Floyd on Spain -The English really are not on their best behavior on holiday in the south of Spain.
Jamie at Home -The same dish, in all twenty episodes.
Nigella Bites -Large and in charge.
