Various sources are reporting that it’s not just Heston Blumenthal’s taste in adventurous eyeware that’s toxic, the food potentially is too. Between thirty and fourty people have fallen ill after dining at the Michelin three starred restaurant. As a precautionary measure the restaurant is closed until the source of the illness is located. Where will people get their snail porridge fix during the closure?

apparently he has a private company do his checking for food safety (something like a corporation like milestones/earls/cactus club have). It wouldn’t stop me from eating there unless there was like mold in the walls and needed to be renovated.
Well, according to the article, it`s not the first time his restaurant has come under scrutiny. It didn`t seem to hurt his Michelin Stars the first time though, and I wonder if this one will.
Does anyone know of any precedent?

Yeah I’d say that’s a way to lose a star.
Maybe it’s the nespresso they serve and someone finally found out the “coffee” inside is low grade, defect ridden crap. :)
Seriously, the fact that Fat Duck serves nespresso has been a deep sticking point for me in my perception of this place being “quality”.
Ate there once and would go scare or no scare. Things happen it could any number of factors that are out of the control of any restaurant i.e. tainted seafood, contaminated, greens etc. Mark – El Bulli and the Jules Verne also use nepresso -)
