Weston: I think you meant to say "In Vancouver he has to compete with West/Fuel and you can even add DB/JGV." Or, at least, I hope you did.

I love Vancouver food, and overall the dining scene is probably preferred to that of T.O just from a layout point of view -- I find Toronto places very spread out.

But in terms of quality, especially the places I went in December, it is a push. We think we are lucky with all of these NYC chefs coming to town, etc... but hands down the best new resto I have been to was Note Bene in TO, opened by a bunch of Canadians.

Maybe I am naive, but I suspect that someone at Ramsay's level of fame and marketing power would not endorse ANYTHING without money being exchanged --- or a new partnership being developed.

Yes, you are correct. Presumptuous of me indeed. I really should watch more TV. Nonetheless, I still think he's going to open in Toronto first, call it a wild nonsensical hunch.

Isn't Hell's Kitchen taped in Hollywood? And isn't the London in West Hollywood? Not that I expect Ramsay to open something in town, but claiming he might do Toronto because of his NYC connections seems a bit presumptuous.
