VALENTINE’S WEEK 2009: THREE CITIES, THREE COUNTRIES, SIX COURSES

logo1

Food and travel can be among the most powerful, romantic experiences a couple can share. So this year, Two Chefs and a Table is celebrating Valentine’s Day with a six-course meal which combines tastes and wine selections that will take guests on a culinary journey, evoking the culture and romance of three iconic European cities.

The evening opens in the northern Italian jewel of Verona, the legendary setting of Romeo and Juliet. It then moves north and west across the Alps to Paris, where the evening light has a romantic quality like no other. A trip South across the Pyrenees brings us to the rich tastes and rugged coastal beauty of Oporto, Portugal, the world centre of Port production.

The wines for each course and city are authentic regional selections chosen by renowned expert Paul Watkin of the Seacove Group to perfectly match each elegant, expertly prepared course. The airy Two Chefs and a Table bistro in Railtown will provide the relaxed setting for a great evening of food, wine and friends.

The menu will debut on February 11th as the next in the Two Chefs and a Table series of Wine Drinker Dinners and will be available through Valentine’s Day. The cost is $75 per person. Call 778.233.1303 or email info@twochefsandatable.com for information and reservations.

JOIE WINES REBRANDS

joie-farms

We, Heidi Noble and Michael Dinn, would like to announce that we have made a small change to our name from Joie Wines to JoieFarm for trademark purposes. The reveal of the updated logo is included above and will be made public with the private release of our 2008 vintage, February 17th-24th , 2009.

The name JoieFarm reflects the development of our project over a five year period from producing wines out of other winery facilities, exclusively from growers’ grapes, to the building of our own winery and the planting of our own vineyard.

Even with the exciting addition of estate fruit, we will continue to work closely with the 20 dedicated farming families who supply the majority of our grapes on long-term contracts. JoieFarm will continue to be focused exclusively on the aromatic varietals of Alsace, Burgundy and Champagne, in pursuit of complex, naturally balanced wines that compliment the cuisine of the West Coast of Canada.

Since 2002, our project, originally known as Joie, has evolved from a guesthouse and on-farm cooking school into a 9,500 case winery and vineyard. This has been an exciting process and to mark this evolution our new trademark, JoieFarm, signals the increasing control and improvements we have made to our wines and our deep connection to the place we call home.

For more information, please check out our completely revamped website www.joiefarm.com. You may also contact Michael Dinn at 250-488-1960 or email us at wine@joiefarm.com
