Le Vieux Pin Harvest ~ Cabernet Franc

by paulkamon on December 16, 2008

James

We are fortunate this year to have purchased a 1000 liter open top oak fermenter from our local cooper at Okanagan Barrel Works. This French oak fermenter is the perfect vessel for vinifying our exclusive and extremely limited ‘Equinoxe’ Cabernet Franc. We received a minute ¾ tons of fruit (less than 50 finished cases of wine), that was hand de-stemmed by myself, Sean Salem, and a few select others over the course of 2 days.

The Cab Franc smells and tastes phenomenal! Our clients will be extremely pleased. If you are very lucky and happen to stop by the winery during winter (Tuesday to Saturday, 11am-5pm) you may even get to try a barrel sample. This is just one of the wines being crafted at Le Vieux Pin for 2008, so stay tuned for further updates, drop by for the royal tour or sign up for our newsletter at www.levieuxpin.ca.

The Cabernet Franc and other limited release wines are only available to clients on our mailing list.
