it’s not a first for what they are trying to do but in these tough financial times…i wish the best to all that are trying to get themselves started. Good Luck.

Boycott earls, eat local!

I wish them success, but I can’t help but feel nostalgic for the old Sugar Refinery. The photos above display no resemblance to the space’s predecessor, which makes me wonder why they (sort of) kept the name.

It does appear to be the epitome of the Granville Gentrification Project, at least so far. And it has a cool door.

Knowledgeable passionate waiter! Refreshing to see an attractive well spoken man who knows wine, food and how to treat people during a night out. Thanks Ryan. With the economy in disarray and the holidays approaching, the price point is very agreeable if not understated. The portioning is very Euro, and you’re meant to ‘graze’, enjoy good conversation, and turn dinner into an event.
The decor is spot on for hip professionals doing business, having a Sazerac after work, or celebrating with a group in the back room (without the usual din of Granville st.).
No egos allowed, just friendly faces taking hospitality to the next level. Chef Carter needs a pat on the back for unbelievable flavours and unique creations like the goat cheese-cake.
Try to visit mid-week, Chef loves to chat over free beer!
See you soon.

I Frikin love this place!

I have been in twice now and the food, service and just overall style is awesome, I know they are still very new and not uber busy but I hope they are able to treat people the same when it gets big.

I just booked for dine out on the 24th, can’t wait to get me some more of that cheese cake!

Thanks guys especially Ryan, and see you next week!

PS I agree with Chop Chop above, eat local baby!

Excellent establishment. Best cocktails on Granville Street- try something with their house-made bitters… fantastic!
