I'd take an original Matt Groening over most tips any day.
Once served Stephen King. Apparently, he's a writer. :)
I was the only one in the room excited about serving someone who had been on The Simpson's.

A Picasso wouldn't be bad either!

Once, a long time ago, when my children were young, we had lunch at Sophie's. During the meal my daughter had made several origami pieces. Our server was entranced, and said, "Please would you leave those for me, and can you teach me how to make them? Don't bother with a tip, just teach me how to make those." Of course, we fulfilled the first request, AND left a grat.

Pablo Picasso paid for many a long lunch the same way-he was famous for treating his friends to long boozy lunches even after he couldn't drink anymore-Paul McCartney wrote a song about that in fact.

Drink to my health
You know I can't drink anymore</i>'

There was a piece in the NYT Magazine about how Picasso showed up at a restaurant - and drew all over a paper menu - and then proceeded to shred it, slowly, into tiny little pieces - breaking the heart of everyone who worked at the restaurant.

I understand that he also did this with large cheques - he would write a cheque, and then doodle something on the back, causing the cheque holder great vexation on whether or not to cash the check.
