The Vancouver restaurant scene has been on a fervent mission over the last couple of years to re-invent the Italian dining experience for our fair city.  Gone are the “Lady and the Tramp” clichés, replaced with a modern Ferrari-like sensibility: fine marble, clean modern decor, and simple and creative twists on classic dishes focused on fresh, quality ingredients.  With this in mind, we sent the intrepid UD food photographer, Jackie Connelly, on a mouth-watering assignment to document some of the newest Italian dishes on offer from Cibo, IK Trattoria, La Buca, and exclusive pics from the soon to be opened, and highly anticipated, Campagnolo.

That angnolotti from La Buca and the tagliatelle from Campagnolo make me want to dive into my screen.

I was planning to move to Italy but it seams I don’t have to. I couldn’t afford the flight anyway!
