The much anticipated Voya Restaurant and Lounge, the anchor restaurant of the Loden Vancouver, a brand-new luxury boutique hotel by the Los Angeles-based Kor Hotel Group, is going through their final systems checks before they open their doors to the public this Saturday, October 18th.

Led by a trio of well-respected industry professionals, Chef Marc-André Choquette (Lumière), General Manager Robert Herman (Cincin), and Mixologist Jay Jones (Salt, Nu), the restaurant has enough pedigree at the helm to warrant of all the incredible buzz surrounding this new venture.
Here is an excerpt from the press release:
“This first menu presentation chronicles my culinary curiousity,” says Executive Chef Marc-André Choquette. “Vancouver is a multi-cultural haven with people from myriad places around the world so I have designed several dishes with this in mind. Voya is also giving me a chance to salute the standards of famed Kor Hotel Group chefs who have recently welcomed me into their kitchens.”
Sounds delicious. Break a leg everybody!

Finally!! Yesss!!!! I think this must be the most anticipated restaurant opening in the history of Vancouver, especially in the industry. I was fortunate enough to work with MAC years ago at Lumiere and glad he’s out of the shadows and getting the spotlight he deserves. He’s a real chef’s chef. Check out the menu http://www.voyarestaurant.com, I was startled by how reasonable the prices were. Congratulations Marc and the rest of the team. Basque in it!
Can I still apply for the Kitchen? ^_^ ?
Giddyup!
Cocktails tomorrow night!
I’ve been able to peek at their cocktail menu and it looks deelish…I love the ideas that inspired the drinks, and can’t wait to sample one or two!

Best of luck guys, enjoy the ride! Had the pleasure of working with Robert at CinCin for the better part of a year and I’m sure with the other talent on board this is a top team that is sure to produce something special in the city. Can’t wait!
Jay Jones was with Salt? Really? I thought his last gig was Donnelly Group after Nu?
Regardless, so looking forward to this. I don’t plan on being there Saturday, but definitely next week. I also have a present for Jay, but not sure if I should give it to him right away, or during one of the official parties. It should feature prominently on the bar. ;)
After Nu, Jay Jones opened Salt with Chris Stearns. He did a lot of the groundwork in the 8 months he spent there in making Salt into what it is today, forming a smooth and easy pass of the baton to myself.
