Cafe Medina (aka “Awesome Tintin Belgian House of Babar”) the new, day-time only spot that has been serving great coffee and waffles next door to Chambar since it opened a few months ago, has finally completed its kitchen installation. Breakfast and lunch service starts tomorrow (Friday). Giddy-up.
Some unsolicited weirdness in this morning’s mailbag:
“Once again Chambar is making headlines. This time not for its culinary art, impressive service or award winning cocktails but for a day of celebration in retro whites on bikes.”
Well known for their raucous annual staff parties, the crew at Chambar apparently went on a John McEnroe-esque rampage through several downtown Vancouver watering holes, leaving destruction and presumably several balls in their wake.

I’ve just heard on the CBC news that the rock slide was worse that initially thought, and that the Sea to Sky will be closed for at least five days (according to Whistler’s mayor). If there are any Whistler restaurant folks out there, please fill us in on what that means for business in the comment field below.
