I have to tell you that the revamped Modern Burger experience that I had this evening, will not be one that I will be craving again.

The burger arrived soggy, swimming in a pool of mositure from the water logged, under cooked mushrooms and onions. The meat was seasonless and resembled the colour of a typical Vancouver rainy day. And the cheese, instead of being that gooey goodness that bonds the meat to the bun, just reached a state of waxiness.

The fries were dry and lacked any substance.
And the "dipping sauce" .....though I can appreciate a signature creation, seemed an odd pairing with its unusual smokey flavor.

And the price point only fueled my disappointment.

Maybe it was just an off night, or the youngin's who were left to tend the grill, but this is one stop I will not be making again in my continue quest for discovering the "best" burger in town.

Sun's getting to you old man ... either that or the kids.

Then you weren't as lucky as Mr. "Best Restaurant Scoops in Vancouver" Morrison. I guess membership does have its privileges.

I don't know what's worse ... line crashing, or bragging about it.

Yeah I know ... this is getting old. I'm hot and cranky this afternoon. Deal with it.

We arrived at 5:30, waited 45 minutes in line to be seated at 6:15, didn't get a waiter to take our order until 6:45, and didn't get our burgers until 7:20! Just as we were about to throw in the towel and cross the street to White Spot to avoid fainting from starvation. I'd think long and hard before going again. The two-hour wait just wasn't worth it, even though the burgers were good as usual.
