A characteristic interview with chef Andrey Durbach in today’s National Post has just come online. You can read it here.
I might be biased because I’m a big Amy Rosen fan, but I think the National Post’s F&B coverage has been getting a lot better in recent months.
UPDATE: and then I read columns like this and the overwhelming reek of Toronto’s dilettante sphincter comes back to me in waves of puke-inducing panic. Shudder.
The horror…the horror…

I have to agree with you Andrew! Gordon Ramsey comes to Toronto and the best they can come up with is some painfully juvenile written article on his shoes and some lost bags. This is just further proof to that our food scene and for that matter food journalist scene would be much better equipped to handle Chef Ramsey should he decide to bring his kitchens our way.
I assume there’ll be plenty of media ejaculate flung adoringly at his kitchen door if he opens here.
Andrew, I do love your way with words.
That Shinan Govani article in the NP reminds me why I cannot subscribe to Toronto’s “national” papers.
