As many of you have already heard through our pals over at CityFood, on our own forum, or in the mainstream press, the North Vancouver home of wine writers/educators DJ Kearney and David Scholefield was completely destroyed by fire this past Tuesday. They lost everything, including their wine cellar and their cat, but they’re safe.
House insurance will eventually kick in, but in the meantime they remain homeless and in need of assistance for basic necessities like clothes, glasses, and the like. I’m hoping many of our compassionate readers, if they haven’t already, will help them find their feet with donations.
Here’s what we can do:
Donations can be made to the “Kearney/Scholefield Fire Trust,” account #179986-04 at the North Shore Credit Union.
Mail a cheque made out to “Kearney/Scholefield Fire Trust” North Shore Credit Union, 1080 Marine Drive, North Vancouver, B.C., V7P 1S5
No donation is too small. Thanks.
