VANCOUVER – A man who went on a rampage with a bottle after being spurned by a woman at the Macaroni Grill on New Year’s Eve is facing four charges of assault.
Vancouver police say the man made an advance to a woman as she and her friend ate dinner at the restaurant on Davie Street at about 11:30 p.m.
Although the woman politely declined his invitation, the man refused to take no for an answer, prompting her friend to intervene, Const. Jana McGuinness said. This led the man to retaliate.
“He punched her [the friend] in the face and turned and bottled the other woman over the head causing cuts to her head,” McGuinness said.
Apparently, he then assaulted a female security guard before throwing the bottle at the doorman on his way out. Classy.
