I haven’t heard a peep from the peeps behind it but I hear it’s the Scott Morrison side of the Browns chain (Cactus Club clones) trying to do a “high end” steakhouse in two locations at once, one in Yaletown in the old LK Dining Lounge location and the other in Kits in the old Thai Yummy spot. I’d wager a plate of chili chicken and some short skirt service that Pinkys will be popular with the CFD crowd, but both locations are tough. The full name is Pinkys Steakhouse and Cocktail Lounge. The Yaletown opening is slated for the end of November…more info as it arrives…
Opening Soon: Pinkys

went in last night. It was their first bit of service.
Nice room. Lots of cool touches, and more to come.
Met all of the owners / managers.
Had a few things on the menu. Great crab cake and calamari.
Sterling Silver beef……..very good quality and flavour.
Nice wine list that is well priced. Interesting selections.
They will do well here.
Nice to see some action in that space. That end of the block is coming together.
Now if we can just get some more restaurants on my end of Yaletown.
Great first impression,
We literally live on top of Pinky’s kitchen — they heat our apartment, so we decided to give them a try.
We are sometimes hesitant to dine in Yaletown — from the birthday girl in Glowball showing us her underwear during our meal, to having our conversation drowned out by loud and inappropriate background music at Flite, we are a bit gun shy. Pinky’s was a wonderful surprise and a a complete turn around from our other Yaletown experiences.
The space itself makes a great first impression. The decor is well designed and well though out, though we did hear every order shouted into the kitchen from our perch along the back wall.
We both enjoyed our meals. The steak was tender and cooked perfectly and my partner’s wilted Spinach Salad was wonderful. His halibut was flavorful but the presentation made it a little difficult to enjoy.
Service was excellent. Out waiter was personable and attentive.
Oh, and the take home steak sandwich from your leftover steak is a great idea!
Went to Pinky’s for a girlfriend’s birthday. Cute space, nice mix of decor with eclectic touches. Server was friendly but busy.
Good parts end there, unfortunately. Medium-rare steaks came out well done and way too salty. Sauteed mushrooms alongside suffered the same salty fate – inedible. Disappointing for a spot billing itself as a steak restaurant. Noise: Granted was a Saturday night but we had to shout across the small table to have a conversation. Cocktails were good though and dessert ok.
Wasn’t the worst meal I’ve ever had but can’t say I’m itching to go back. If you go, be sure to ask for a light hand with the seasonings.
Couple of things:
1. food was fantastic (16 oz bone in rib eye for certain to please)
2. service was well-paced and kind
3. prices are on the high end of moderate
4. location is hopping – provides a great alternative to some of the others occupying the new west fourth footprint
