Mallozzi on Tomato

Way back when it was at its Cambie Street location, Tomato was on our regular lunch rotation. We always looked forward to Tomato day, partly because of the sandwiches, and partly because it meant that our office assistant, Lawren, would have to deal with the individual who came to be known as “Surly Counter Guy”.

The Meaning of Nuba

As I mentioned the other day, I’ve got Nuba on Seymour in the pipe for this week’s WE. We did the photoshoot two days ago and I’ve just finished writing my review of the Lebanese restaurant this morning. But only moments ago, Ernesto at Nuba sent me some info on the restaurant’s philosophy and history. Fascinating stuff, but since I’m hardly going to touch on any of it in my story, I thought it might be worth sharing here:
