So I checked The Shore Club out with a colleague last night. I’ll write about it in print channels later, but I will say that it’s very good, very tight, and very expensive. Lots of curious industry types guffawing at what appeared to be a 1:1 staff/customer ratio. Naturally, service was superb throughout. Here are some videos to give you an idea as to what Elaine Thorsell’s design looks like…

Er…me?
oops.
Guess I’m not used to you using videocamera.
Video camera? Whatever! We’re talkin’ state of the art spy cam embedded in the frames of my glasses.
Ballsy! I’m too self conscious to take my camera to restaurants anymore. Nice looking place!
I’m curious about the 1:1 ratio, was that because of a quiet dinner crowd, or because they purposely staff that way? Also, when you say “tight”, is that as in “tight run ship” ? I loved your spycam footage, well done!
1:1 because they’re new and purposely over-staffed. They weren’t that busy, either.
And yes, when I said “tight” I meant as in “tightly run ship.”
Thanks for reading.

i have been to the shore club a few times for business lunches and have been suitably impressed!
the staff are polite, know what they’re talking about, and the atmosphere is cozy yet high-end. it’s a great mix of both uber classy and laid back.
i’ll be writing about them shortly on my blog related to customer service…huge marks! (click on my name to check back)
