Headed to Cobre to try out some of their dishes and was disappointed across the board… they have nothing on similar restaurants that do it much better… (read ” Baru Latino)…. The Tuna Ceviche is actually potato salad dressed with 3 or 4 pieces of tuna on top, the empanada is like quebecois Tourtiere stuffed into a pizza pocket…. just not that exciting or tasty… I expected more, much more …. to their credit, their drink list boasts many fine cocktails, and tasty they were at that.
hi we are a group of mom’s from diferent countries in latin america, (el salvador, nicaragua, venezuela, colombia, mexico) we were there looking for a good place to remember and try some of our cuisine and nothing!!! this place don’t have nothing in comun with latin america, expensive and the food……..?????????? so disappointed real deals!!! rinconcito salvadoreno on comercial, pulgarcito on hastings, inka deli (peruvian) on burnaby, Dona cata on victoria drive….this places are really latin……
oh well. We does to try. ¡gracias por su gran revisión!
Class.
We went there on a Saturday a few weeks ago and had a horrible experience. The food was good, but the service was terrible.
If a restuarant is going to charge $15+ for tapas, it better be unbelievable food and service. The host was rude and our server was
so bad…at one point everyone had empty drink glasses and dirty cutlery…and no server or busperson in sight!
You can sit at the bar at Coast and order their lighter fare menu, ,which is comparable in price, the food is excellent and the service is top notch.
What a waste of an evening and money going to Cobre.
I have no even words to express my dissapontment about this place.
I was in this place yesterday with my asian girlfriend to show her something about the good latino food and I felt embarrased with the quality of it. The food is TOO modern that it is not latino food anymore.
The service was terrible, we were treated with disdain by the stuff, specially the latino gay waiter, and I took forever to have our minuscule dishes on the table.
This place is a waste of money, time and Energy.
