Emad Yacoub of the Glowbal Group was in Joe Fortes several weeks ago celebrating the deal that landed him Italian Kitchen, an upcoming restaurant just around the corner from Joe Fortes. We’re talking Dom Perignon, the whole bit, right in the belly of his soon-to-be competitor. If this rumour proves true, Bud Kanke sure is tatting for tit by opening within a oyster’s toss of Glowbal, Yacoub’s Yaletown flagship. Act Two of this rumour sees the new Kanke place showcasing Asian small plates.
Elsewhere in Yaletown, Joey’s is moving in across the street from the Hamilton Street Grill.
