Shannon Heth does PR for restaurants such as Parkside and Bistro Pastis…
Even though I love staying in the East Village, there are only so many nights one wants to rub elbows with bohos and practicing actors (the coffee shop wherein I write these updates has ads for headshots and the Alexander Technique for Actors and Singers, and usually, someone is practicing lines for an audition right underneath them). So, last night it was time to hit a different village to the west. A lovely little italian restaurant called Da Andrea hit the spot. Cozy, authentic, and some of the best homemade pasta I’ve ever had.

I was happy to stop at a bottle of wine and a quaint dinner with candlelight and pre-war brick, but when you walk by Lucky Cheng’s on the way home it’s hard to resist popping your head in. Although a karaoke birthday party was taking place in the back, George and I were more than happy to take a seat at the bar and order the drink we’d heard so much about, Jamie’s Pink Pussy. This thing is all booze with a splash of juice, and that’s 150 proof alcohol aflame in the middle. One of these, and the waitresses at Lucky Cheng really do look like women…
